Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 6:12-13.
Verse 13, "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
Ephesians 6:13 is our current memory verse in the Patch Club. It was such an encouragement to hear 5 of our sailors quote it from memory this past Sunday. It would definitely be worth investing some time to put this verse to memory.
Our enemy has a daily plan for our lives. He is working at leading all of God's children to fall into his trap. His work of deception began long ago in the Garden of Eden and it continues today. The evil attack is ultimately against God. We have all that we need to avoid his wiley traps. God's armour is available to us each and every day that we live. Please notice again the command, "take unto you." This means we are to take up the armour of God and be ready to use it. God's strength is avaiable and WILL be needed to stand. We can be sure an attack is coming if we are told to stand. Ephesians 6:10, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might." Our strength will not enable us to stand, but we can be strong in the Lord while putting on the armour of God. His strength and armour will keep us standing and bringing Him all the glory!
