Our Scripture reading today is Luke 21:20-22.
Verse 22, "For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled."
This was a warning given to the Jewish people to flee from the destruction that was coming. Jesus could obviously see it in the future and His great love for Jerusalem and the people can be seen in this warning. The destruction of Jerusalme in AD 70 was complete. History records that over 1 million Jews were killed and thousands were take captive.
God is a God of love, but He is also righteous and just. He will forgive anyone who will come humbly to Him. Also, He will righteously judge all who reject Him and His Son's sacrificial death on the cross. The wages of sin is still death. The love of God allows us to choose Jesus Christ substitutionary death on the cross our own death in the lake of fire. What choice have you made?
