Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 6:28-32.

Verse 31, "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?"

At the midway point of the Sermon on the Mount, the Lord Jesus reminds those present that they need not worry about their daily provisions.  As God takes care of the flowers and the animals, He will surely supply their needs.

The great provider of the Bible times is still the great provider.  He has not run out of food, water and clothes.  God will faithfully provide our needs according to His riches.  He owns everything.  Surely, he can provide for you and me.  Luke 6:38 reads, "Give and it shall be given unto you..."  Do you give to the work of the LORD through the church?  Some say, "I cannot afford to give."  It really is true that you cannot afford NOT to give.

Praise the Lord for His provision!
