Our Scripture reading today is Luke 22:17-20.
Verse 19, "And he took the bread, and gave THANKS, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which broken for you: this do in remembrance of me."
Once again I am amazed at the way things line up.  God allowed it...God ordained it...that we are reading on this Thanksgiving morning of the Lord Jesus giving thanks.  I trust that things like this strengthen your faith and encourage you.  God is involved in the smallest of details as much as He is in moving a mountain.
We find our Saviour serving His disciples the bread and the cup.  This is the example that we follow when we observe the Lord's Supper.  Isn't it striking to you that Jesus is actually giving thanks for what is about to take place?  He is thanking God for His body that is about to be broken.  Thankfulness is not to be reserved for times of plenty.  Thankfulness should be there when there is very little.  Thankfulness is not to be reserved for times of good health.  Thankfulness should be there when our health is greatly compromised.  Thanksgiving is an attitude of gratitude.  By God's grace, let's follow the example of the Lord Jesus and be thankful in everything.
