Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 17:19-21.
Verse 20, "If ye have faith..."
One of the key words for living a victorious Christian life is faith. In fact, we cannot even claim to be a follower of Jesus Christ without faith. "For by grace are you saved through faith..." (Ephesians 2:8) I have found in my Christian life that faith as increased and unfortunately it has also decreased. You could say I have been on the faith roller coaster. To God's glory, my faith is definitely stronger today than when I was in my 20's. How can I say that? It has nothing to do with my "performance". Time and time again, God has proven Himself faithful. Not that He needed to prove something, but each time a challenge or test came and I put my faith in Him, it helped to increase my faith for the next test. To me, faith doesn't happen overnight. Faith grows and grows over time. I am not referring to saving faith as in the verse mentioned previously. I am referring to day to day living faith. Luke 17:5 sums it up best, "And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith."
