Our Scripture reading today is Mark 16:6-8.
Verse 6, "And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him."
It is not necessary to wait until Easter or Resurrection Sunday for God's people to rejoice in the empty tomb. We are able to live in victory every day because our Saviour is alive! Death could not hold Him down and death will not hold us down. Our eternal home in Heaven has been secured by the precious blood of the risen Son of God. When we leave this earthly body, we will be in the presence of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
Possibly the greatest need we have today is to live in greater faith. The admonition given at the tomb was to not be afraid. When we get a vision of the empty tomb, it will help build our faith. If Jesus Christ is powerful enough to conquer the grave, there isn't anything in our lives that He cannot enable us to conquer. His ministry continues today: Hebrews 7:25, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
