Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 2:1-6.
Verse 2, "Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."
The wise men came seeking Jesus. They did not go directly to Bethlehem as the shepherds did, but instead, they ended up in Jerusalem. Surely, everyone here would have been excited about the miraculous birth. This was not the case. The religious leaders knew the facts of where He would be born, but this made little impact on them. The wise men were there for the right reason. These men wanted to worship Him. Part of the worship was the giving of gifts.
God has given us richly all things to enjoy. Do you go out of your way to worship Him? What are you giving to the Lord Jesus? The wise men's worship involved going and giving. I believe we can all learn something from these men.
