Good Lord's Day Morning,
Our Scripture reading today is Job 23:8-10.
Verse 10, "But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold."
What a wonderful reminder from the life of Job! The way that he was taking was part of God's sovereign plan for his life. God knew before Job was even born the way that Job would have to take to come forth as gold.
There is no difference in the life of Job and our lives today. Whatever way God has allowed us to take is part of His master plan for our spiritual maturity. It can also be referred to as a refining time. It was not until after the way Job had to take that he could say he came forth as gold. God knows where we are today. God knows what is yet to come into our "way", and He can be trusted. I am quite sure we all recognize the truth that His ways are not always our ways. (Isaiah 55:8) We may not have chosen a particular burden, but in love, God gave it to us.
May our faith continue to strengthen as we live today in the way that God has chosen for us. He is faithful!
