Our Scripture reading today is Micah 7:18-19.

Verse 19, "He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea."

There is much encouragement in these two verses of Scripture.  The focus is on the mercy and compassion of the thrice holy God.  His gift of forgiveness for our sins through Jesus Christ sacrificial death is an eternal gift that never loses its value.  We read in Lamentations 3:22 that God's compassions "fail not."  While we fail Him time and time again, His compassion for us is infinite.

An application that we can make from this text is to conduct ourselves around others the way God does to us.  We are beneficiaries of His mercy and compassion not just to bask in it, but to give those same blessings to others.  May we look for ways to be a conduit of God's mercy and compassion.  There are plenty of people around us who will be encouraged if we make this one our daily goal.  Matthew 5:7, "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy."
