Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 18:32-35.

Verse 33, "Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?"
One of the attributes of God is His holiness. He is just and right. He is perfect in every way. And yet, God is more than willing to forgive us. We are anything but holy. We are not perfect in any way. We continue to fail him even after He saved us. His love for us is displayed in His willingness to continue to offer forgiveness to us. 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all righteousness."
God's forgiveness should move us to be willing to forgive our fellow man. As Matthew writes we should have compassion on our fellowservant and offer him or her forgiveness. I think we could also say our fellowsinner. God is holy and has forgiven us. We are unholy and should be able to forgive other unholy family and friends. Ephesians 4:32, "...forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
Everyday is a good day to offer forgiveness.
