Our Scripture reading today is Luke 16:1-2.

Verse 1, "And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods."

We were reminded recently of the importance of Biblical stewardship.  A steward is someone who manages the affairs of someone else.  The steward looks after the goods that belong to someone else.  The one mentioned in Luke 16 had not been a faithful steward.  He had not managed things properly and now it was time to give an account of his stewardship.

This past Sunday night, the 5pm lesson subject was the Judgement Seat of Christ.  It is the time when all believers will give an account of their stewardship.  Our goal is not to be better than someone else, but to be faithful to what God has given us.  Everything we are and have is from the LORD and it is imperative that we manage it properly.  Our management skills should be taken from the Word of God.  He has given us every tool to be a faithful steward!
