Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 123.
Verse 2, "Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us."
Psalm 123 is a short but very powerful psalm.  It centers around who or what are we looking at.  Who or what has your attention.  The source of our greatest help is not in and of ourselves.  We are not self made.  Our greatest help is not among our family and friends.  Our greatest help is found in the LORD our God.  He is our saviour and sustainer.  He is our hope and healer.  He is our redeemer and rock.  He is our manna and mercy.  He is our forgiver and friend.  The LORD is always good.
These and many other reasons are sufficient enough for us to keep our attention on Him.  It is His call that should be our call.  It is His will that should be our will.  “We have too long acted on our own initiative; let us wait on our exalted Lord for the indication of his will.” (Meyer)  God cannot be put on a time clock.  He is seldom early, never late, but ALWAYS on time.  The LORD God is faithful!
