Our Scripture reading today is Acts 10:34, "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:"
The context of this verse is the understanding that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was for the Jew and the Gentile. Up until this time, it was thought that only the Jew was worthy enough to be given the Gospel and that God hated the Gentiles. The Gentiles did not care much for the Jews either. This new and correct way of thinking and living even amongst the Christians was not what anyone expected.
God's plan of redemption is for everyone! God is not looking to see someone's economic status or culture before saving them. His love has been and continues to be extended to the poor, rich, educated, uneducated, and on and on it goes. This truth is stated in Deuteronomy 10:17, " For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:" God helping us, we need to live our lives regarding everyone the same. Everybody ought to know Who Jesus is! Tell someone today!
