Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 4:14-16.
Verse 16, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
The access that we have been given to God's throne will always be amazing to me. Jesus Christ death, burial, and resurrection makes it possible for a sinner like me to be redeemed and then have the privilege of going directly to the Father for mercy and grace. May we never get over this.
The mercy of God is when we do not get what we deserve. All people have sinned and therefore deserve the second death. Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Revelation 20:14, "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." We deserve hell, but by God's mercy; we are delivered from it. The grace of God is receiving what we do not deserve. God's grace makes it possible for dead sinners to made alive and given eternal life. Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"
Marcy and grace are a dynamic duo that we should be praising God for every day. They are not only for our salvation. Mercy and grace are available to help you today. Seek for their assistance boldly at God's throne!
