Our Scripture reading today is Luke 11:9-10.
Verse 10, "For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
This morning we come to a promise from the Lord Jesus that should encourage us to keep bringing our prayer petitions to Him. These activities (ask, seek, knock) are not to be done simply once, but they are to take place continually. We must not be discouraged to stop praying when the answer does not come the next day. A successful prayer life will be marked by a continuous ask as well as a fervency for whatever is being requested of the Lord.
Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
James 5:16, "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
If you've stopped asking, seeking, or knocking; there is no better time than today to start again. James 4:2c..."ye have not because ye ask not."
God is still in the miracle working business!
