Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 50:14-16.
Verse 15, "And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me."
The promise found in this verse is one we could be claiming quite regularly these days. It seems like daily I hear of someone else going through a troublesome or challenging time. Difficult days should not be a surprise to the believer. God's Word makes it clear that the Christian life is not easy, but it also makes it clear that God is always with us. 1 Corinthians 10:13, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
My encouragement to you is to not delay in calling on our loving God. What I mean by that is don't wait until you have tried to figure out the problem before you call on God. Whatever difficulty you are facing today, call on God now. God allowed the trouble for your good and His glory. Another prayer promise is found in Jeremiah 33:3, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." God is able!
