Today's Scripture reading is Psalm 1:1-3.
Verse 2, "But his delight is in the law of the LORD;"
The individual that David is writing about is someone who takes pleasure in obeying God. This person has a desire to follow God's will. He does not surround himself with those who would lead him to do otherwise.
The Word of God is not simply to be read. God's Word is to be delighted in to the point where we strive to obey it to the fullest. Every morning we are more than ready to open God's Word in search of spiritual nourishment for the day. This is a picture of delighting in the law of the LORD. We search not only for our own benefit, but for the benefit of those whom we influence.
Psalm 119:97, "Oh how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day."
