Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 15:25-28.
Verse 26, "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death."
If you have time, I would like to encourage you to read all of chapter 15 of 1 Corinthians. Praise our almighty Saviour for making it possible for death to once and for all DIE! In addition to the Apostle Paul's inspired writings, I like what Mr. Spurgeon said about this text, "“When at the Redeemer’s resurrection many of the saints arose and came out of their graves into the holy city then was the crucified Lord proclaimed to be victorious over death and the grave... these were but preliminary skirmishes and mere foreshadowings of the grand victory by which death was overthrown.” Matthew 27:52-53, "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many."
Our physical death is simply a transfer from this world to Heaven. We have this assurance due to the price that Jesus Christ paid on the old rugged cross. It is a true...Death HAS died! May we rejoice in the life we have now as well as the one that it is to come. To God be all the glory!
