Our Scripture reading today is Exodus 23:28-30.
Verse 30, "By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land."
In the context of this passage, we find that God's timing for delivery the Israelites was always right and with purpose. The way that God moved out their enemies a little at a time would prepare them to always depend on Him.
If you are a born again child of God, you have many reason to rejoice! Your sins in the past, present and future have been covered by His sinless blood. (Hebrews 9:22) Your eternal home in Heaven is being prepared at this very moment. (John 14:2) I could continue to list numerous other reasons to rejoice.
Instead, my challenge today is that we need Him today! God is always advancing. God is always before time. These statements should give us the courage and assurance we need to live on the winning side one day at a time. While it is true that the battle over Satan and sin were won at the cross and the empty tomb. It is also true that we need to apply that victorious power to our lives each and every day. Surrender your will today and ask for His will to be done.
