Our Scripture reading today is Jude 3-4.
Verse 3, "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."
It matters not what generation we are referring to, there must be a remnant of God's people who stand faithfully for the truth of God's Word. The best way we can stand for the faith that was once delivered is to walk in it every day. What does this mean? It means to apply it and obey it. The revival that is needed in our generation is for those who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ to start acting like it. 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
If I am to take a stand for truth, it involves a lot more than just saying I stand for truth. The army of God must be more prepared (Ephesians 6:13-18) and more involved. How much have you been personally involved in standing for truth in the last 6 months? How about in the last month? I repeat, to stand for something, there must be action. The devil has plenty of excuses to give us to keep holding back. It is time to stop making excuses and start contending for the faith.
