Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 4:15-16.

Verse 16, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

We find a command in this verse when it comes to our prayer life.  The child of God is to come boldly to throne of grace.  We are allowed to come boldly because we have an omnipotent and compassionate High Priest.  He is more than willing to hear our requests.  He wants us to come to Him.

"Boldly does not mean proudly, arrogantly, or with presumption.

  • Boldly means we may come constantly.
  • Boldly means we may come without reservation.
  • Boldly means we can come freely, without fancy words.
  • Boldly means we can come with confidence.
  • Boldly means we should come with persistence."
Our prayer life should not be limited to a time of prayer in the morning.  We can and should pray without ceasing.
