Our Scripture reading today is Luke 2:25-26.
 
Verse 26, "And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ."
 
While I am sure news was travelling through Bethlehem about what the shepherds had seen, Simeon is clearly following the leading of the Holy Ghost.  The Holy Ghost let him to the temple on that precise day and time.  Simeon was promised something very special and the promise was fulfilled.  God always keeps His promises.  Titus 1:2, "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;"
 
As we open God's Word every day, our eyes should be on the lookout for promises to be claimed.  They are all through the pages of Scripture waiting for us to apply them to our lives personally.  Did you find one today?
