Our Scripture reading today is John 19:26-27.
Verse 26, "When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!"
The scene is Calvary. Jesus Christ has gone through much physical suffering and is now nailed to a cross. Soon, He will take His last breath and die in our place. Right before this takes place, we witness His love and compassion for Mary and John. He wanted to make sure they were both cared for. Our greatest example of thinking about others is found in these verses. We learned last night that this is one of the ways we can overcome anxiety. Live today for others and watch the grip of anxiety start to loosen.
