Our Scripture reading today is Luke 20:45-47.
Verse 46, "Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;"
What was the root problem with these scribes that Jesus said to watch out for? I think we can all see it quite quickly. These scribes were full of themselves. They will prideful and self-conceited. God always resists pride!
May God help us to beware of the attitude of the scribes in our day. It is so easy to allow pride to overtake us. I think Brother Kevin said on Wednesday night that we, "Love ourselves..." He is right! Make a conscious effort today to die to self and allow humility to bring glory to God!
