Our Scripture reading today is Romans 10:13-15.
Verse 15, "And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"
Can you imagine someone in Rome and in Paul's day having beautiful feet? We are talking sandals and lots of dust. I think we know that this is not quite what Paul was referring to when he wrote this verse. The beautiful feet mentioned here are the ones delivering the Gospel message to others. When we think of feet, we think of movement, advancement, or going somewhere. God provides us salvation to sinners. It is through Jesus Christ and Him only that we can be saved. After we are saved, it is our responsibility and privilege to go with the Gospel. It matters not if we are a pastor or foreign missionary, we are all to be actively delivering the truth to anyone God brings across our path. Do you have Gospel tracts ready to hand people you meet? Do you have a few in your car? Do you have a few near the front for the delivery man or woman?
There's plenty of bad news stories for people to read and hear every day. Let's deliver some glad tidings of good things today!
