Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 16:24-26.
Verse 26, "...or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"
These verses go right along with the parable of the Rich Fool that we studied yesterday morning. There are many many people who are exchanging eternal peace and blessings for temporary "success". The success the world has to offer cannot compare with the joys of Heaven. The context is referring to someone who gains much from the world, but spends eternity in hell.
As someone who calls themselves a Christian, what are you willing to exchange? Is Sunday still the Lord's Day or have you allowed work or play to take a higher priority? Is there still ways you are sharing the Gospel with others or is that the pastors and missionaries job? Is your Bible opened up more than just on Sunday? It ought to be our heart felt desire to be more in tune with our Heavenly Father every day. He loves us and has provided everything we need to live for Him.
