Our Scripture reading today is Romans 14:19, "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another."

We have a Monday challenge to strive be a peacemaker and or edifier.  It is quite possible that we could be asked to fulfill both of these challenges today.  Our world is living on the edge of exploding all the time.  I am not referring to literal bombs although that is a serious concern as well.  People all around us are in need of peace of mind and heart.  Their homes need peace.  Their workplace needs peace.  The list is endless.  As born again believers, we know the Prince of Peace.  Jesus Christ is the only true source of lasting peace.  We must allow His peace to be seen in our lives and be willing to speak of it when given the opportunity.

The second challenge we have for today is to be on the lookout for ways we can teach someone what someone has already taught us.  An edifier is a teacher or an instructor.  Our goal is to others be better equipped to live their lives for the glory of God.  This could be our children, co-worker, or a friend at school.
