Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 4:15-16.
Verse 16, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
We are once again challenged and helped by one of the "Let us" verses in the Bible. (I like to think of lettuce.) There is something for God's children to do and there is a promise tied to that action. If we come boldly, we will obtain mercy. If we come boldly, we will find grace. Mercy is not getting what we deserve. As sinners, we deserve hell. Grace is getting what we do not deserve. As sinners, we do not deserve Heaven. I am thankful that God allows us to come to Him in the name of Jesus anytime we want.
