Our Scripture reading today is Luke 11:29-30.
Verse 30, "For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation."
The prophet Jonah did not always do what he was told and with the proper attitude, but Jesus said he was a sign. He spent three nights in the Whale Motel and became a sign of things to come. After those three days and three nights, he was set free. Jonah was a picture or sign of someone appeasing the wrath of God.
We know Who that Someone was and is today. Jesus Christ was and is the sign. The lost world does not need a sign, but they do need a Person. John 1:12, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" John 3:36, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before!!
