Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 15:57-58.
"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
It is evident once again that the Apostle Paul loved the believers in Corinth. He refers to them in verse 58 as "beloved brethren." The word, beloved, indicates they were dear to his heart. He loved them enough to challenge and encourage them to stay faithful to what God wanted for them.
We are enabled to stay faithful and stand for truth by the power of God's Spirit working in and through us. Because God has given us the victory, we can be anchored to the timeless truths we find in the Word of God. Our ability is really a dependability on His ability. I would like to encourage every born again believer to stand up, stand up for Jesus. Our Saviour is worthy of any labour we can give!
