Our Scripture reading today is Luke 19:22-23.

Verse 22, "And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:"

There is no reward for this unfaithful servant.  Instead he receives a stern rebuking from his master.  The power and greatness of the master should have motivated the servant to do something; instead of being lazy and careless.  The master had provided the servant everything he needed to be productive.  There was no one to blame except the slothful, servant.

We, too, have been equipped with everything we need to bring God glory.  He is almighty God Who is worthy of our diligent service.  Surely God has enabled more people to serve in the local church they are attending.  Surely God is calling more people to serve Him full-time.  What is the missing ingredient?  It is a willingness to surrender to God's will and use what God has given us to serve Him.  We are currently praying for two more ushers to serve at Anchor Baptist Church.  Whether it is ushering or serving in Patch Club, it is ultimately done for the Lord!  Are we willing to use what we have to serve our Heavenly Father?
