Our Scripture reading today is Isaiah 58:1, "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins."
God wanted a message delivered and He wanted it to be clearly delivered. It was not a popular message but it was the message that needed to be spoken. The deliverer of the message was not responsible for whether or not the people listened. His task was to speak the truth as he was told.
We have been commissioned by God to preach the Gospel to every creature. This is not an option for Christians to consider doing. It is a command that should be obeyed. We are not responsible for whether or not it is received. We are responsible for whether or not we speak the truth in love. It is imperative that we follow God's plan as laid out for us in the Scriptures.
