Our Scripture reading today is Deuteronomy 4:29, "But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul."

God wants us to seek for Him.  It is not difficult to find Him if we are willing to seek for Him.  The phrase, "Thou shalt find him", is one of great encouragement and comfort.  It may seem at times like God is distant, but in reality we can find Him quickly once we search for Him with all our heart.  It means we search for Him because we love Him and without Him we can do nothing.

A song came to mind as soon as I read this verse this morning.

1 I need Thee ev'ry hour,
Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.

Refrain:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Ev'ry hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Saviour,
I come to Thee.

2 I need Thee ev'ry hour,
Stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their pow’r
When Thou art nigh. [Refrain]

3 I need Thee ev'ry hour,
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain. [Refrain]

4 I need Thee ev'ry hour,
Teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises

In me fulfill. Refrain
