Our Scripture reading today is Colossians 3:1-4.
Verse 1, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God."
What is it we are to be striving for each and every day of our lives? What is the child of God to be going after? Paul answers these questions in this verse of Scripture. As a born again believer, it is my duty and delight to seek God's will to be accomplished. I am to be investing my life in what brings God glory and has eternal value.
As we seek for something, there is effort put forth. This means we won't just stumble into the will of God. This labour can be seen most in our prayer life. We are seeking in prayer for God's power and wisdom. We are seeking for His will to be fulfilled. While we are praying, Jesus Christ is right there at His Father's side interceding on our behalf. Praise the Lord!!
Are you seeking more for the eternal or the temporal? It might be time to reevaluate and redirect your effort to things which are above.
