Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 11:24, "And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me."
We recently were privileged to observe the Lord's Supper. It is a time of remembering the price that was paid in order for our sins to be forgiven. The body of the Lord Jesus was broken and His holy, blood was shed. He willingly went through all of the pain and suffering. It is a time of thanksgiving for the gift of eternal life that was provided to us (the enemy) through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. Romans 5:10, "For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." Our remembering all that Jesus Christ did for us should cause us to willingly live our lives for His glory. 1 Corinthians 6:20, "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
