Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 11:17, "By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,"
We see a picture of the Lord Jesus in Isaac. They were both the only begotten sons. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The faith of Abraham to go as far as he did in offering his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice is quite amazing. He believed the plan of God over his plan. Did he have doubts? Did he question it? There seems to be no hesitation is following through with what God asked him to do.
We can trust God's plan for our life. We can continue to lean on His everlasting arms. He will never fail!
