Our Scripture reading today is Genesis 22:2-3.
Verse 3, "And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him."
It would appear as if Abraham did not even question the instructions that were given to him in verse two. He did not delay in making his way to the place where God told him to sacrifice his son, Isaac. Abraham displays a level of faith and obedience that we should all seek to follow. He was willing to sacrifice the son he dearly loved in order to obey God.
As we come across commands in the Word of God, we too should be willing to obey them and obey them right away. Our love for God will be known and shown by our obedience to God. John 14:15, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Is there someone or something that we love more than God?
See you at church this morning at 10:30.
