Our Scripture reading today is Acts 2:46, "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,"

The early church was characterized by several actions in this one verse.  One in particular that stands out to me is the frequency in which they saw one another.  It would seem to me that "daily in the temple" is quite frequent.  The more they gathered together, the more opportunities they had to learn the Word of God as well as learn more about one another.  It makes sense that the family of God would want to spend time together.

Are there people at Anchor that you know very little about?  I am not suggesting we all know everything about one another.  However, I am strongly suggesting we get to know one another better.  This will bring about a better unity and it will enable us to pray more diligently for our brothers and sisters in Christ.  It is difficult to get to know some people who only attend church once or twice a month.  If that describes your church attendance record, why not strive this year to be in at least one service a week.  Anchor Baptist Church is not a club.  Anchor Baptist Church is a fellowship of born again, baptized believers who desire to be disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.  This would include being faithful to the church He established!
