Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 6:18-19.

"That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;"

Here we have come to another church anniversary celebration.  Twenty three years ago this weekend, Anchor Baptist Church had her first service.  I remember the butterflies that day and they continue to fly each and every time we gather to meet to worship our faithful God.  As I look back on this year of ministry, I am reminded at how quickly things can change.  Our physical bodies are not in our hands to control.  There were times over the last year that I was not sure I would be here to celebrate #23.  I am truly thankful for one more day.

What has not changed is that God remains our hope, He remains our ANCHOR!  He is ever sure and stedfast.  He is always good.  He is truth...HE cannot life.  He is faithful.  He loves you and me!

Thank you, Anchor family for your many prayers on the behalf of our family.  Thank you for your cards and gifts of love.  Thank you for the many meals.  Thank you for the hospital visits.  Thank you for continuing to live for the Lord in the midst of so many unknowns.  To God be all the glory!
I love you,
Pastor
