Our Scripture reading today is Colossians 4:2-3, "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:"

There is a plea for prayer on the behalf of the Apostle Paul.  He is seeking the church at Colossae to intercede on his behalf that God would give him opportunities to preach the Gospel.  He is in prison for preaching the Gospel, but Paul still has a desire to continue delivering the good news.

Paul also challenges the church and each of us today to be people that continue in prayer.  It is always too soon to stop praying for someone you know to be saved.  If they are still breathing there is hope.  We should be in prayer daily for others as well as the needs in our own lives.  Prayer is the best way we can let God know of our complete dependence on Him.
