Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 4:16, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
While it is very clear in Scripture that sinners can only be saved by God's grace (Ephesians 2:8). The grace of God goes far beyond our salvation. Every day that we live after we come to Christ for salvation is filled with God's grace. The writer of Hebrews admonishes us to come boldly to God's throne of grace. We are promised to find mercy and grace which will be a great help in our time of need. Grace is God giving us what we do not deserve. Mercy is God not giving us what we do deserve.
No request is too small or large for our Almighty God! The key is that we come and come often. Philippians 4:6, "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."
