Our Scripture reading today is John 15:16, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you."
One of the blessings we have as children of God is to go and bring forth fruit for His glory. This task is something we have been called to do. It is not an option we consider whether we want to or not. Any believer who is not bearing fruit is living in rebellion against God. We also read that Jesus said our fruit should remain. This fulfillment of God's calling for all believers will only take place if we bring it to our Father in prayer. It is impossible to bear lasting fruit without God's hand enabling us accomplish the task. God commands us to bring forth fruit that remains, and He promises to help us if we ask Him.
