Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 4:11-12.
Verse 12, "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:"
God has given us spiritual leaders to help guide us into spiritual maturity. He has a plan in place for all of His children to be equipped to withstand the temptation of the Devil and see daily victory in their lives. The list of servants in verse eleven can and should be found within the local church we are a member of. We can be helped by others outside the church but the majority of our edification should take place in our local church. Be in church as much as you possibly can. Look for ways you can be influenced by others who have been saved longer than you. Seek people in the church to spend time praying together for one another and the overall outreach of the church. When you are going through a challenging time, seek counsel from the pastor and other godly leaders. The worst thing you can do when trouble comes is run from your church.
The church is a precious gift from God for us. How much attention are you giving to the church?
