Our Scripture reading today is 1 Samuel 10:24-26.
Verse 24, "And Samuel said to all the people, See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen..."
Israel's first king (Saul) had been chosen by the LORD. The people accepted God's choice by shouting, "God save the king". The will of God can be the most exciting and challenging. It can be lonely and peaceful. The place I need to be is where the people found themselves in these verses. It is the place of acceptance. Are you willing to accept the will of God today? We can fight against the will of God, but that will only bring stress and discouragement. Our prayer life should be filled with seeking God's will in every matter. Are you willing to accept that God's will may not involve better health? Am I willing to accept the dry brooks of life?
This is the day to take a line from the Lord Jesus model prayer and make it your life statement - "Thy will be done." This is the place of acceptance that every child of God needs to arrive at each and every day.
