Our Scripture reading today is 1 Peter 5:5, "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."

I remember growing up and thinking that people in their 50's were really old.  Now, I am 51, and I do not feel that way anymore. (Haha)  Isn't it amazing how our thoughts change as we get older?
As I read this verse from the Apostle Peter, I gave thanks to the LORD for the many "seniors" in my life through the years.  It is a blessing to have someone who has been down life's path more than you take time to invest in you.  We have that today at Anchor Baptist Church. May God help us to be humble enough to realize we need what ever generation is ahead of us to continue to be faithful to the LORD.  We need them to lead us and we need to follow in humility.

By the grace of God, there could come a day when you are the "old" people looking back to the next generation.  Stay true to the Word of God and God will bless your life.
