Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 26:1, "Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide."
The example that the Psalmist sets before us is one we should all seek to follow. He is a man of integrity and one who trusts in the LORD. These qualities help him to keep his spiritual feet from slipping. “It is not David’s reputation in the eyes of other people that concerns him but rather God’s reputation that he covets.” (Boice)
Our enemy is constantly trying to trip us up. He is seeking to bring shame to God and he is attacking His children to do it. We have the Spirit of God in us to help live lives of integrity and trust. This life will honour our creator God. This life will have fewer and fewer times of slipping.
