Our Scripture reading today is Job 23:12, "Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food."
Job considered the words of God to be more important to him than the food he ate. He set out to not only hear the words but to follow what the words said to do. For this to take place, Job would need to pay close attention to what message God was delivering to him.
God has a message for us every time we read or hear His Word. The message is necessary, personal, and important. We can be sure that our enemy will attempt with full force to distract us from receiving what God wants us to hear. Satan knows how powerful we are when we are equipped with God's Word. As spinach was to Popeye, so is the Word of God to our spiritual muscles!
