Our Scripture reading today is Daniel 6:9-11.
Verse 10, "he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks..."
There are only a handful of people in the Word of God that point us to prayer like Daniel. His example continues to be preached when the topic of prayer is the subject. In this particular case, it is against the law of the land to be praying to anyone other than the king. Daniel knew about the law, but he also knew that his relationship with the God of Heaven superseded that law. He continued to faithfully pray to his God regardless of the potential consequences.
How often do you find yourself praying? How often do you find yourself giving thanks? While the exact number isn't significant, both of these should be happening frequently in the life of the child of God. Who else can help us like our God? Who else has the daily provision we need? Who else can give us true peace? Our Heavenly Father gives good things to those who ask Him.
