Our Scripture reading today is Luke 1:46-50.
Verse 48, "For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed."
As I read through these verses of Scripture, one word kept coming to my mind that described the mother of our Lord Jesus: humility. The words coming from Mary are not words seeking for personal worship. Mary is pointing all worship and praise to God. She is humbled by the fact that God would choose her to be the one blessed among women to all generations.
Today and every day, we have the same privilege as Mary. Our lives should be pointing others to the Lord Jesus. He is the only One worthy of our worship. He is the only One worthy of our praise. Anything we accomplish is only made possible by the great grace of our creator God. Revelation 4:11, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."
