Our Scripture reading today os Luke 1:59-63.
Verse 63, "And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all."
Zacharias had been speechless for the last nine months. Elisabeth had given birth to their son and as was customary, he would be called by the name of his father. Elisabeth having known about the angel who had visited her husband said his name will be called John. After getting confirmation from Zacharias, this new baby was given the name of John. The people marvelled then and they would marvel again one day at John's message.
What does your name mean? What does your name represent? What do people think when they hear your name? It is my prayer and I am sure it is your too that others would be drawn closer to Jesus Christ because of their connection to our lives. May it be said that our name points people to the name that is above all names, Jesus Christ! Psalm 8:1, "O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens."
